From where in time should we tell our stories, and in what tense? How can we layer reflection into a memoir without spoiling the tension of the moment? In this two-week class hosted over zoom, we’ll talk about the possibilities of narrative distance as a craft choice, looking at examples of how published memoirists use tense, structure, time pegs, speculation, and more to make meaning from their experiences in a narrative.
