For $950, I'll be your sounding board through the MFA application season.

Our work can begin as early as you want (spring? summer? fall?) and will conclude after the deadlines of the programs you’re submitting to (usually by January 15 at the latest).

For the Winter 2024 deadlines I am taking on 2 new MFA coaching clients.

This package includes:

• An introductory one-on-one call to flesh out the style of MFA program that will work best for you (considering professors, funding models, locations, length, residency types, and more), as well as to discuss the role of the personal statement and what yours, in particular, might optimally look like

• Feedback on two drafts of your personal statement

• Feedback on two drafts of your work sample

• General support through the process including answering random questions that come up, strategizing about your letters of recommendation, etc.

Each client’s needs are a little different; we’ll spend our conversation time wherever is most important to your process.

What’s not included:

—Please note that if writers need additional support after two drafts of either the work sample or the personal statement (which: good for you! Revise it into the ground!!) they will need to purchase additional manuscript feedback, but will receive 20% off.

—If a client gets into a program and wants to do a call to discuss how to make their choice, this call is not included, but they will receive 50% off my normal rate.

note: Working with me in this way does not guarantee a letter of recommendation. How many letters I write each season depends not only on the depth of our connection but the amount of time I have to offer and whether former students have already asked me for a significant number of letters. In short, this package is a way to improve the focus and sharpness of your application--not a way to purchase a recommendation.
